This Lent we begin a parish study series called Quest for Respect. Using a book prepared by the Mennonite Church of Canada, with contents written by over forty people from diverse backgrounds, we will try to address the following questions: What is Indigenous spirituality, and why is it critical for Settler Christians to learn about it? What is the history of Indigenous–Christian encounter? How does spiritual abuse and violence continue today? How might we repair the damage done? And what does genuine respect really look like?
We have a number of books on order and will mail you one if you are interested in participating, email Kristen at email@example.com. We plan to have four Zoom sessions to discuss the four chapters of the book. These zoom discussions are tentatively set for Tuesdays at 7:30pm, each two weeks apart, starting February 23.
