Returning parishioners should take a walking tour around our buildings to discover major improvements that have been made in the last months.
The most important is the new roof for the chapel, work recently completed by Claude Holmes from Watt Roofing. Many old layers of cedar shingle were taken off replaced by long wearing grey ceramic tiles guaranteed for 50 years. Our heartfelt thanks to Michael Burns for funding this major initiative. The best news is that the workmen opened the bell tower and reattached the rope. It will sound again for the first time in many years. We will now ring it for at least the 10:30 a.m. service.
The Hosta Garden is better than ever. It has been weeded, and new mulch put down. We are appreciative to all the parishioners and friends who contributed their time and effort. Norm Sanford, a landscaping contractor, with the help of a friend, installed the mulch and gravel in the Easter Garden and got rid of the grass and weeds. Thanks to all.
The Hosta Garden will soon be turned into a Prayer Garden with posted texts for private worship. We want this unique facility to be part of our community outreach and will encourage members of the community to come up off Keele Street for quiet moments of reflection and meditation.
Finally, Norm installed new paving stones on the walkway off Doctor’s Lane to the top of the driveway.
