Daily Prayers and Reflections for April 23

Offered by Lay Pastoral Visitor, Leah Springford

Let us who journey on the way with Christ, risen and ever present in mystery, pray for the world with all our heart and mind.

We pray for the church universal, for our Bishops Justin, Linda, Anne, Peter and our Incumbent Elizabeth. We ask your blessing on our sister parishes in Mexico.  Help your people to search the Scriptures to bring us nearer to our Lord.

We pray for all the nations and people of this wide earth,  that we may be delivered from the virus that keeps us isolated from each other.

We pray and give thanks to God for the Ministries at All Saints,

Today we especially pray for: our Lay Visitors and our telephone ministry.

We pray for those on our hearts that are suffering in body, mind and spirit. May they find healing in the name of Jesus.

We pray for the health of the Earth and for all of Creation:

Holy and gracious God, give us strength to meet the health crisis growing in our world. Enlighten researchers that they may discover the right vaccine against COVID-19. Bring together agencies around the world that they may work together to eradicate this health crisis. Guide the doctors and nurses and all medical staff working with those who are infected that they may be protected as they care for their patients. We pray for those who are ill or isolated because of this virus, that they may know your love and care as it comes to them through human hands. We pray also for those who have died and for the bereaved that they will know the consolation of your love. Keep us mindful of our responsibilities during this time of anxiety and enable us to do all we can in our homes, churches and communities to alleviate the risk of spreading the virus. All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Creator of the universe, you made the world in beauty, and restore all things in glory through the victory of Jesus Christ.  We pray that, wherever your image is still disfigured by poverty, sickness, selfishness, war and greed, the new creation in Jesus Christ may appear in justice, love and peace, to the glory of your name.
