A New Interim Priest-in-Charge for All Saints

Your Wardens are very pleased to announce that the Right Rev. Peter Fenty our area Bishop has appointed Major (Ret’d) the Rev. Dr. Michael Peterson as full-time Interim Priest-in-Charge of our parish effective Monday, June 15 until December 31, 2020.

Michael is a very likeable mature man of many accomplishments. After receiving a Master’s and Ph.D. from McMaster University he became a professor, worked in the corporate world and then went to Wycliffe College graduating in 2004, and was ordained in the same year. He was Rector of two parishes near London, Ontario.  In 2006 he became a part time chaplain with the Canadian Army Reserve, then in 2006 joined the Regular Force as a full time padre, serving on several bases in Canada before coming to Camp Borden, where he taught at the Canadian Forces Chaplain School and served as Senior Base Chaplain before retiring in June 2020. He and his wife, Joy Packham, are very active in the parish of St. Margaret of Scotland in Barrie where he is Honorary Associate Priest, preaches and takes services. He is active in the Diocese where he is a Congregational Development Volunteer.  Joy is herself a busy Diocesan volunteer, serving on several committees, and in 2019 received the Order of the Diocese of Toronto for her service.

Michael is delighted to be joining All Saints as its priest and will be commuting from Barrie when we are back up and running.  We will be planning several ways of meeting him via Zoom and other means in the weeks to come.  He is keen to help us find new beginnings for our parish and bring us all together as disciples in the service of our Lord.
