New Ways to Give! Online & Mobile Donations Now Accepted

All Saints has finally entered the age of online and mobile giving! Both members and non-members of the church can now easily donate to the church from home or on the road using phone, tablet, or computer.

It is our hope that you enjoy the freedom that online giving allows you, your visiting family and friends, and others who find themselves wanting to support All Saints Anglican Church in more contemporary and convenient ways.

Why are we doing this?

As we become a “cashless” society and rely more on plastics and online payments, it is not always easy for people to give regularly on Sunday mornings to help support church operations, ministries, fundraisers, and community outreach. For many, cheque-books are a thing of the past. For others, wallets are for carrying debit and credit cards, not cash. As a result, when the offertory plate is passed for donations during a Sunday service, it frequently comes back lighter than in years past.

The ability to give online and through a mobile (cell phone) app also avoids the awkwardness visitors, new members, or even long-time parishioners feel when the plate is passed and they’ve nothing to contribute to it that morning.

Additionally, as we look to raise monies for outreach & fundraising initiatives (like Refugee Sponsorship, our Mexican sister parishes, the Pikangikum community, or church renovations), online donations make it easier for people to give as the spirit moves them, not just on a Sunday morning.

How do we do we give?

There are 2 ways to give online:

  1. From your computer
  2. From your phone or tablet

To give from your computer, simply click the GIVE button along the right side of any page of the website. This will take you to a secure website (provided by Tithe.ly, a leader in online church giving platforms) where you can give directly to All Saints Anglican Church.

  1. The first time you donate, you must set up an account with your name, email, mailing address, and payment information. After doing this once, you will never have to do it again.
  2. Search for All Saints Anglican Church King City as the church you wish to give to. If you’ve done this once, you won’t have to do it again.
  3. Click Give Now to open the donation page.
    • Choose an amount to donate
    • Choose what you want your one-time donation to go towards (e.g. General Operations, Outreach, Rector’s Discretionary Fund, Youth Ministry, or a special Fundraiser)
    • If you want this to be a regular/ recurring donation, you can select the appropriate box and set it up for weekly or monthly recurrences instead of one-time
    • Select your payment method
    • Any other information is optional (e.g. you don’t need to input a Member ID – but if you wanted to include your church giving envelope number here, you could)
    • Choose whether you want to cover the bank fees associated with the donation or not (about .91 cents for every $10 donated). This is optional.
  4. Click Give to submit your donation

To give from you phone, you need to first download the Tithe.ly app on your phone. Do this the same way you would download any phone app – from Google Play or from the Apple appstore. Once installed, the steps are similar to the ones above: Set up an account, choose All Saints Anglican Church King City as the church you wish to donate to, then complete the giving form.

Are online and mobile donations tax receipt-able?

Yes! Whether you give on a Sunday morning through cash/cheque, or a Tuesday afternoon on your phone or computer, the donation is tax-receipt-able. The first time you donate online or using your cellphone app, you must create an account which includes your mailing and email addresses – this allows the church to send you a tax receipt at the end of the year.

As well, each time you donate online or using your phone, you will be sent a personalized email thanking you for your donation, and confirming its submission.

Are online and mobile donations secure?

Yes! The Tithe.ly phone app and online giving form use the same security protocols as banks and other secure online sites. From the Tithe.ly website:

All sensitive financial information is stored with bank level security. All information transmitted to our banking partner and on our site is done via an encrypted HTTPS (SSL) connection; and stored by our banking partner to PCI DSS Level 1 compliant standards

Can we still donate the way we always have?

You can of course continue to support the church using traditional giving methods during Sunday services – by cash/cheque or through PAR (pre-authorized & automatic giving program).

We encourage members who are still writing weekly cheques or giving envelope donations to consider signing up to our pre-authorized giving program. If you are sick, on vacation, or otherwise not at church on Sunday morning, your pre-authorized donation will still make its way to the church. This is very important in the summer months when many people are away, but the bills still need to be paid!
